Editorial policy
Job Search Tools UK publishes information about UK employer sponsorship for an audience that is often making expensive, time-sensitive decisions. This page sets out how we work, so you can judge how much weight to give what you read.
Who publishes this site
Job Search Tools UK is published by the team behind Sponsio, a UK sponsor-search tool. We say so on every page. It matters because we write about a category our own product sits in, and you should read our reviews with that interest in view.
We are not a law firm, an immigration adviser, a recruitment agency, or an employment agency. We are not affiliated with the Home Office, GOV.UK, UK Visas and Immigration, or the Immigration Advice Authority.
Where our facts come from
We work from primary sources, in this order of preference:
- GOV.UK guidance and the Immigration Rules.
- Legislation on legislation.gov.uk.
- Official statistics and published reports from the Home Office, the
Migration Advisory Committee, and other regulators.
- Companies House for company identity.
We do not use other blogs, forums, or AI-generated summaries as sources of fact. Where a figure appears on our pages, it appears because someone opened the official page and read it.
How numbers are verified
Every salary floor, fee, threshold, and register count on this site is recorded in an internal facts ledger with the source page and the date it was checked. A figure does not go into an article unless it is in that ledger.
Time-sensitive figures carry a visible date on the page — "verified against GOV.UK on ..." for salary and fee figures, and "as of ..." for register counts. Our build refuses to pass its own audit when those dates go stale.
| What | Re-checked every |
|---|---|
| Salary floors and going rates | 90 days |
| Register counts and update dates | 30 days |
| Fees, including certificate and skills charge | 90 days |
| Lists that expire, such as the immigration salary list | 60 days |
| Regulator names and reporting channels | 180 days |
What we will not claim
These are hard rules, enforced by an automated check before anything is published:
- We do not give immigration advice. Under section 84 of the Immigration and
Asylum Act 1999, only a qualified person may do that. We tell you to use GOV.UK or a regulated adviser instead.
- We do not promise outcomes. No visa, job, interview, or sponsorship result is
guaranteed by anything we publish.
- We do not say a sponsor licence means an employer will sponsor. A licence is
permission to sponsor, not a promise to sponsor any role or any person.
- We do not claim endorsement by, or affiliation with, any government body.
- We do not publish a statistic without a source link.
- We do not name an employer as unwilling to sponsor. The public register does
not support that claim about anyone.
How we handle our own commercial interest
On pages that review job-search tools, we add a visible disclosure at the top, because our publisher makes a tool in that category. We do not present our own product as an independent recommendation, and we say when a check we describe is free and needs no product at all — which, for the sponsor register, it always is.
We do not link between our sister sites to inflate their standing in search results.
Review and updates
Each guide shows a published date and a last-reviewed date. Reviewing means someone re-opened the cited sources and confirmed the figures, not that a word was changed. When rules change materially, we update the article and move the review date; when they do not, we still move the date so you know it was checked.
Corrections
We publish a corrections policy and we would rather hear about an error than not. Reports go to hello@joinsponsio.com.
